Before you begin
- Only the store owner can change the store address.
- Before your store launches, you can change it as often as you like. The old address is released straight away.
- Once your store has launched or taken an order, you can change it once a year, while your plan is active. The old address keeps sending visitors to your store forever, and nobody else can take it.
- A launched store can hold up to three old addresses.
Change the address
- In your admin, open Domains (admin page).
- On the Store address card, tap Change address.
- Type the new address. The page tells you straight away whether it is free.
- Read what changes, type the new address again to confirm, and tap Change address.
Use an old address again
Your old addresses are listed on the Store address card. Tap Use again next to one to make it your address again. Your current address then becomes an old address that redirects. This still counts as your change for the year.
After the change
Update these yourself, because only you can:
- Your Google Search Console property and sitemap.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) domain verification and catalogue website address.
- Your Google Merchant Center website claim.
- The website address registered with your payment gateway account.
- Links in social bios and ads. They keep working through the redirect, but a direct link is faster.
